Winemakers on the Mountain

Leading winegrowers from Austria’s best-known wine-growing regions convene at the Trattlerhof in Bad Kleinkirchheim every winter for a special kind of summit. Our “Winemakers on the Mountain” culinary weekends, which run throughour the summer, showcase top Austrian wineries like Hannes Sabathi and Wieninger.

These weekends comprise an exquisite programme of events to delight everyone – not just wine-lovers! These include a wine tasting accompanied by wine-related stories from the winemaker and paired dishes.

You can look forward to a tasting menu of wine-matched Carinthian delicacies and delicious morsels from the inn’s kitchen, which has been awarded 81 Falstaff points.

From 21 September to 12 October, the enjoyable evenings as part of the "Fine dining evenings" always take place under a unique motto.

The Trattlerhof staff are the careful custodians of a tradition dating back centuries. In 1642, the Jesuits granted the landlord at the inn the right to serve food and drink – an early tavern licence! Back then, the innkeepers would serve up rustic wine to the drivers of the pack trains who came over the Alpine passes. The Trattlerhof archives also contain an 18th-century bill for the delivery of a 150-litre barrel of wine.
