Slow food the Trattler way

As French writer François de La Rochefoucauld so aptly put it, "To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art." We embrace that very same ethos at our inn. That's why we make it a point of pride to make sure that each and every one of our lovingly prepared dishes are masterpieces of culinary indulgence for our guests.

Farm-fresh, wholesome cooking

The influential slow food movement has arrived at the Trattlershof, where all dishes are sustainably and lovingly prepared. Carlo Petrini, the Italian founder of the international slow food movement, describes it as "Buono, pulito e giusto" – farm-fresh, clean and fair. These three components are an essential part of every Trattler dish, and you can taste the difference. At the Trattlershof in the heart of Bad Kleinkirchheim you will find delicious food that nourishes body and soul.

Slow food: delectable, responsible, regional cuisine!

"The most important seasonings for any meal are the time taken to prepare it and the skill of the chef. What luck that the Trattlerhof combines both to perfection."

Quality regional produce

All of the produce cooked with such passion and care in the Trattlershof kitchen comes from local farmers and producers or our own herb garden, and has been personally selected by our supremely talented chef. From our very own 'Kärntna Laxn' sea trout to crisp organic vegetables and succulent steaks from our neighboring farmer, you can simply taste the quality of the fresh local ingredients, making every bite an absolute delight. That's the Trattlershof quality promise.

"We're on first-name terms with all of our suppliers.
Those close relationships guarantee the utmost quality when feasting at the Trattlerhof."

Our favourite slow food dishes at the Trattlerhof

Our goulash simmers in a wood-fired oven for eight to ten hours, giving it plenty of time to develop its full flavour. Mark our words, this will be the most tender, succulent and delicious goulash you've ever tasted.

"Bon viveurs, foodies and people simply looking for scrumptious meal
all meet here for the Trattlerhof's slow food.“
